1-to-1 iPad Program Implementation

September 18, 2013

Students and teachers incorporate mobile technology to enhance the learning experience.

Starting in Fall 2012, we introduced iPads into classroom at Carden Academy as part of a longer-term goal to evolve and develop a robust and modern technology curriculum. Each student receives an iPad to use for the school year to engage with class content interactively and collaboratively. Junior High students are allowed to take their iPads home for homework and projects, while younger grades leave their iPads at school. The teachers at all grade levels incorporate the devices in daily lessons, and for Junior High, include homework that may include multimedia presentations. All students have iPad-based class content and consistent access to devices throughout the school year.

In addition, our teachers use Apple TV to regularly incorporate multi-media instruction into their curriculum. Each summer, our teachers receive additional instruction from certified educational technology trainers on how to maximize their teaching skills and specialized subjects using new technology and apps.
